South Boulder

South Boulder has a quiet feel with ranch style homes dating back to the 1960's as well as modern homes ranging from modest to multi-million dollar properties. South Boulder makes you feel like you can slow down a bit. Sip a medal winning craft beer at the community minded Southern Sun pub or just go for a hike at one of the south end of town's many access points. South Boulder has it all; everything from affordable first homes to the ones we dream of over-looking the city lights.

South Boulder leaves you with the impression that those that live there want to be a part of the bustle of Boulder but they also might want to make a quick getaway to Denver as the highway 36 is a hop skip and a jump from the south of town. If access to the 93 corridor and to Golden are to your liking, south Boulder is the perfect place to lay down roots. World class climbing can be found just south of town in Eldorado canyon. It's a nice lifestyle complete with good schools, great parks, open space, and restaurants who'd love to feed you.

South Boulder like other parts of town has it's share of preschools, elementary, two secondary schools, and Fairview High School that offers a popular and robust International Baccalaureate program. Broadway is the main route and has a bus that runs up and down all day and evening. The bus ride to the historic Pearl Street Mall is just about 10 minutes and along the way you can hop off to get to the University of Colorado at Boulder to watch a basketball or football game or just to check on your student who is attending classes. Just a few minutes from South Boulder you can go to the local Chautauqua Assembly which is one of the few remaining in the country. As it was in the beginning it is true today, a Chautauqua offers cultural and educational experiences that help to bring our community together. That and it's a gorgeous place for a picnic and a hike.

South Boulder is known for it's ranch style homes with wood floors, large lots, and it's grand views of the local mountain range known as the Flatirons. It really gives you the feel of what life looked like in Boulder when women went to the hairdresser weekly and men hoped for a cocktail and newspaper at the end of the day. Condos that rise up right against the foothills are amazing in that they overlook the city and the beauty that lies beyond. South Boulder is a great place for both a quiet lifestyle as well as for an adventure soaked one, for people who want to be close to rocks that beg to be climbed and to trails that invite you to tread on them.
